Aug 6, 2021

So 2020 saw a huge change in the way we work, with more of us leaving behind commuting and offices to work from home!

We know this has been difficult for a lot of people, with poor dek set-ups, weak internet, no face-to-face communication, and a world of Zoom meetings.

Here are some helpful tips from the team at Oakfield Chiropractic to keep you safe

A

Create a routine, sign in and off, take a lunch break, wear your work clothes, switch off other interruptions so you can focus.

A
Open a window to allow fresh air to circulate so you aren’t getting less oxygen.
A
Drink more water and less caffeine! Water helps the brain to function better.
A
Take a micro-break every 30-40 minutes. Get up and stretch, move around, this will allow your muscles to relax and helps prevent brain fatigue

Desk advice:

A
Don’t sit on your sofa or bed with the laptop on your knees! This will encourage tension and pain in your neck and shoulders and low back!
A
Use a desk, table, or even countertop to sit at when you’re working! Better yet change your work positions as the day goes on.
A
Raise your laptop to eye level so you aren’t straining your neck, Use books or a proper stand to lift the screen.
A
If you’re sitting make sure your elbows and knees are at 90 degrees to the table and chair.
A
Consider a wireless keyboard and mouse so you can move them nearer to you on the desk and stop overreaching.
A
Make sure you have a good back and seat support to keep upright.
